Background

Kit Magnar grew up a lost child adopted by a barbarian tribe. Though she will never know her real parents, it is doubtful she would have melded with them any better than she melded into the tribe that raised her. While she was always kind to and adored by the tribespeople for her amicable innocence and curiosity, she rarely spoke as a child, and preferred to spend most of her time on excursions into the wilderness, in search of some new bit of trivia or sight to see. Though her formal education was sparse, taught only folklore and practical skills by her collective family, she proved to be remarkably brilliant, teaching herself to read and write Rivertongue and Old Realm after only a few visits to civilized locations. Given her prodigal intelligence, wide-eyed curiousity, and propensity for isolation, it came as little surprise to Fury, the tribe's Lunar guardian, when Kit Magnar, after running afoul of creatures from the Wyld during one of her ventures into the forest, was Exalted by the Unconquered Sun under the twilight. Shortly after her Exaltation, she opted to go to Great Forks, a city of great mystical significance. Little known to Kit, the Wyld Hunt had taken notice of the evening Essence-blaze in the forest just a fortnight before, and set into motion a plan that was intended to be a simple trap for three young Solars, but would instead turn into quite an ongoing fiasco.

Presently, Kit is of great interest to the Gold Faction and its Cult of the Illuminated. They believe she is descended from the lineage of Brigid herself, and that her Solar shard will be a key asset in tipping the scales toward the Gold Faction's favor. Along this vein, they have assigned a number of agents to observe, protect, and with subtlety, guide her towards the embrace of the Cult of the Illuminated.

Recently, Kit was inexplicably able to harness the Mists of Eventide to bring sleep to the eyes of an entire camp of House Cynis soldiers. This lends credence the claims laid forth by the Gold Faction, as this technique is known to be a form of sorcery hailing from the Terrestrial Circle, a power Kit, given the medium potency of her Exaltation (OOC: Essence 2), would not normally be able to use.

As baffled as her observers by this display of power, Kit decided to visit the tomb of one of her former incarnations, and upon discovering it partially ransacked, resolved that she must make the same pilgrimage Brigid, and many other sorcerers after her did in the pursuit of identity and occult knowledge.

Personality

Given her young age, Kit carries a measure of child-like naivety into Exalted form. She is still impressed by the wonders, both natural and otherwise, offered by Creation at large, and equally as frightened by what it threatens to unleash. Despite her heightened sensitivity to the light and darkness of the world, she remains determined to experience all that it has to offer. For the most part, Kit is soft spoken, and appears as such -- Her skin is an easy olive shade, baked slightly by her lifetime in the forests of the Scavenger Lands, and the expression worn on her face is most often one of silent curiosity and pondering. Given her meditative nature, her somewhat sarcastic sense of humor surprises none too few of the people she meets. Having been an observer most of her life, she has gained an appreciation for the sometimes ridiculous nature of affairs in the world of the Exalted, and as a result, has developed a certain tolerance for the outlandish attitudes of her newfound compatriots, particularly Lazarus, though he may be receiving more slack because of his status as a fellow Solar.

Her sarcasm, however, is only skin deep, and most likely a coping mechanism. As mentioned above, she is quite sensitive, and at times borders on sheer emotional fragility. She loves to see the people she cares for safe and happy, and, ergo, cannot stand seeing them in endanger or distressed (This is probably a product of her growing up without any specific family -- as she was raised by the tribe as a whole, she tends to lump everyone she develops a personal relationship with in the 'family' category). She is not a complete martyr -- Her empathy is exceeded only by her burning desire to discover the true nature of her identity, whatever that may be, and the secrets held within.

Defining Quote

"It is when the light of the Sun retreats that we begin to see the secrets it prefers to hide."

Virtue Flaw

Compassion - Heart of Tears

Sometimes, the world is just too encompassing and massive to handle. So much light, so much darkness, so many lost souls. There is no connection to the overwhelmingly vast sea of chaos that comprises the Second Age -- even the comparatively small square of land most people know as their entire world is too big to wholeheartedly understand -- the difference made by one is so comparatively insignificant that attempts at salvation are futile. The world can only be wept for, as the transgressions of the past have destroyed hope for the future.
