Background

A few years ago, a man covered in heavy clothes walked out of the desert and into Gem. Screaming incoherently, he attacked an Immaculate monk and left him near death. He was gone from the city before the guards or other monks knew what happened. Over the next few months, Rustung appeared in a number of villages around Gem and left nothing but ash. The leadership of Gem decided he needed to be killed and hired trackers to find and kill him. They claimed he could not be tracked in the desert. With no other options, they turned to the Grass Spiders to take care of him. They could not pin him down in the desert however. They tried a new approach: diplomacy. It was, of course, a trap, but Samsara was interested in what he had to say and suggested that he speak with Makoto Seta. A meeting was arranged and soon Rustung was a member of the Grass Spiders.

Rustung has since proven to be a valuable member of the organization. He has been known to have a temper and has had problems following the no bystander casualty rule. With time and training, he has learned to be more careful during missions. He has even been entrusted with leading some missions in the South. Rustung has been known to take long Sabbaticals with Makoto Seta that are approved by the Three Elite Fiends. What goes on during these trips are known only to the two elemental purists.
